More info

The SONOFF MINIR2 is a smart switch that allows you to make your existing switch smart. This allows you to control your light bulb, or any other device with a maximum current of 10 amperes and a maximum power of 2200 watts, remotely with your phone.

Smart Switch

You simply install this smart switch behind the existing switch. This can be a rocker switch, a pulse switch or a two-way switch. You can continue to use this existing switch to control your light. Thanks to the small housing, which is also fireproof and flame-retardant, it fits in almost all mounting boxes. However, in addition to the phase wire, you also need a neutral wire, which is not always present behind normal switches. You can, however, not install this smart switch in a metal mounting box as it blocks the Zigbee signal.

Wi-Fi Switch

This smart switch uses Wi-Fi. This allows you to connect this switch directly to your Wi-Fi network, so you do not need a separate bridge for this.

eWeLink

This SONOFF switch can be controlled from anywhere, even when you are not at home, using the eWeLink app on your Android or iOS smartphone. Through this eWeLink app, you can also configure the smart switch to suit your needs. For example, you can set up smart scenes. This allows you, for example, to automatically switch on your lights at certain times. In combination with a SONOFF sensor, it is also possible to turn on your lights when for example motion is detected.

Compatibility

Thanks to eWeLink, you can pair this smart switch with various services. You can link the SONOFF MINIR2 with Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings, among others. This also allows you to control your switch via voice assistants like Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Samsung Bixby.

It is also possible to connect the SONOFF MINIR2 with Home Assistant. To do so, you can use the eWeLink add-on for Home Assistant. Because this Wi-Fi switch supports DIY mode, this can be done locally without using the eWeLink cloud.
